For this flight, the tiny Laura's Landing airfield is an oasis. It's exactly half way to my destination, and there are no other airports anywhere near it.

There are the big airports at Martinsburg and Hagerstown. But those are out of my way. And it takes a looong time to get in and out of them, what with their mile-long runways.

Laura's Landing is 1,200'. I can land and take off in half of it, so that little scrap of turf is a BIG field for me, and just where I needed it to be.
