One of the pleasures of the trip is meeting the people who so generously let me land at their airfields. I had called Laura Wright to ask permission, and she not only said yes, she had mowed the field for me the day before.

She and her husband Neil live in a house next to the field that has a hangar where Neil keeps (and built?) his Aventura experimental amphibian. Alas, Neil is now 91 and says that his flying days are done. So I'm all the more touched that they would keep the field open and welcome me so warmly.
