Ellen sat in the back with Kiva's crate next to her. It had all his familiar toys and smells. Sometimes he sat on her lap. Sometimes he slept in his crate. He quickly settled in and passed the three days cheerfully. Here he is on day 3, completely at home.

I can tell you for a fact that when Ellen was a toddler, she did not travel so well. One year we just put ear plugs in our ears and let her scream. It was the longest three hours of my life, but the only way we could get home. With Kiva, she's getting much better than she deserves.
