Our home base is Front Royal, Virginia, at the top of the picture. Fallen Oak is in the mountains at lower left. We did the circuit counter-clockwise, leaving at 7am on a Sunday (arriving at 10:20 after many delays). The next morning, we flew east over the flat lands, leaving Fallen Oak at 8:30 and arriving home at noon.

We had planned to go the other way and pick up Tom Simmons at the Warrenton Airpark. But an unexpected storm system blew up from the southeast the morning of our departure. Everything east of the mountains was unflyable. So we went west without Tom.
