This looks northeast from Front Royal, with the Blue Ridge on the right. The fog is over the Shenandoah River as it winds north along the foot of the ridge to join the Potomac at Harper's Ferry far in the distance.

We had planned to fly that way. But we don't fly over that much fog. If your engine quits, you're dead. Instead, we turned east through the I-66 gap in the Blue Ridge and then flew up its eastern side. Air-to-air radios let us coordinate this change easily.
