This is definitely a sport for morning people. By 2:00pm, the air is full of invisible rising plumes called thermals, so beloved of buzzards and glider pilots. For me, if the buzzards are out, I'm in for a bouncy ride. But the mornings are glass-smooth. So here we are, having gotten up at 4:00am to drive out to Front Royal to be here. But who would want to be anywhere else?
