Light flyers in their natural habitat at the Warrenton Airpark

Notice the lack of concrete anywhere in sight.

Also notice the difference between the two aircraft. Tom's airplane on the right has a tail and control surfaces that move. He controls the airplane with a control stick and pedals. These move the control surfaces on the wing and tail - the ailerons, elevators, and rudder.

By contrast, my trike on the left, is a "weight-shift aircraft". I have no tail. I control the aircraft by moving my weight relative to the wing, just like a hang glider. Both machines have about the same performance.
