Operation Airdrop
Operation Airdrop began with Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Harvey stalled over Houston and rained for days, flooding everything. Some of the cut-off areas contained airports, so some Texas pilots began using their own airplanes to ferry in supplies.
Hurricane Helene is their 14th mission. But it had been two years since the last one, and Helene was their biggest challenge.
As their website says, "By partnering with local charities and organizations, we ensure that vital resources—such as food, medical supplies, and baby items—reach those in need within hours, not days."
This 6-seat Piper Lance is stuffed with about 400 pounds of supplies. I don't know the pilot.
