Home base was the Concord-Padgett airport about 13 miles northeast of Charlotte. This was in a part of North Carolina that had power, roads, hotels, and normal life.

Concord-Padgett is also NOT Charlotte International. Operation Airdrop needed something less busy since they were about to saturate the airport with flights.
