Two rare spring days of high pressure and low winds! I dropped everything and made this two-day trip to the Eastern Shore and back.

The flight had moments of transcendent beauty interspersed with hours of "Are we there yet?" and a few moments of "Uh, oh...I wasn't expecting THIS."

It's a trip I had long dreamed of, but it was too long. 5-1/2 hours out, 5-1/2 hours back. For me, that's too long to be flying an open trike at one go, even with a stop every hour or so. After about 3 hours each day, I was ready to be done. And it was lonely. Partner Hugh couldn't make it. Lessons: Don't go so far. Bring a friend.
